Indonesia and Others Needing Help

I saw in today's edition of www.USAToday.com online that a volcano erupted after a strong earthquake triggered a tsunami in Indonesia.  So far the count is over 100 people regarding those who have been killed, with thousands of others currently seeking shelter.

Undoubtedly, Americans, as well as many other people from different nations, will rally around and show their true spirit in helping those in need.  That is fantastic!  It feels good to make a difference, even when it's not seen or known where, exactly, our donations go.

Don't let that deter you from helping.  But if it does, then consider helping those locally where you can see firsthand where your donations (of time, money, gifts, etc.) are going.  A couple of charities I am very fond of are www.anewdayforwomenandchildren.org in the Orlando, Florida area and www.kalensweetmiracles.org in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

If you are looking for opportunities and you live in those areas, please consider those two charities.  If you are not in those areas, please consider places like a local food bank or any other charity that you may have a particular attachment to.

Make it a great day!
